Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find the dimensions of an image?
Upload your image using the drop zone above. The tool instantly reads the pixel width and height, calculates the aspect ratio, megapixel count, and shows the print size at 72, 150, and 300 DPI in both inches and centimeters.
How do I measure a real-world distance on a photo?
After uploading, use the Ruler tool. First, draw a line on something with a known length (like a ruler, a coin, or a door frame). Enter that known distance and click "Set Scale." Now draw lines anywhere else on the image and the tool calculates the real-world measurement based on your reference scale.
How do I calculate the area of a region in my photo?
Set a scale reference first (as above). Then switch to Area mode and click points to draw a polygon around the region. Double-click to close the shape. The tool calculates the enclosed area in your chosen unit (cm2, in2, m2, ft2).
What image formats are supported?
The tool supports JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG. Processing happens entirely in your browser - your images are never uploaded to any server, so your files stay private.
How do I convert pixels to inches or centimeters?
Divide pixels by DPI. At 300 DPI (print quality): 3000 px = 10 inches = 25.4 cm. At 72 DPI (web): 3000 px = 41.7 inches = 105.8 cm. The tool shows all these calculations automatically.
